What we keep. For each placement: the nation, flag, price, time, the X handle you typed, and the email address from your Stripe payment or the one you gave with a free plant. For a free plant we also keep the numeric id of the X account you logged in with, so each account gets one; we store no X tokens and cannot post from your account. The email is used for one purpose, telling you when your flag is replaced or your payment is refunded. It is never shown publicly, sold, or used for marketing. The handle is public: it is shown on the flag, in the nation's history and in the automatic post from our X account announcing your flip.

Who else sees data. Payments are processed by Stripe, who hold your card and billing details; we never see your card number. The site runs on Vercel and the database on Supabase, both in the United States. Your approximate country, from your IP address, is used only to preselect your flag and is not stored. The only cookie is set when you log in with X: it holds your X id and handle so the site knows you, for a year. We run no analytics.

How long. Flip records are part of the map's history and are kept indefinitely. To have your email or handle removed from a record, email contact@underwhoseflag.com from the address you paid with.
