How it works
- Tap any nation on the map. The price shown starts at $1 and doubles every time the flag changes.
- Pick the flag you want flying there and pay. Your flag is on the map within seconds, with your X handle if you gave one.
- It stays until someone pays double to replace it. When that happens we email you so you can take it back.
- Every flag ever planted on a nation stays in its history. Replaced, never erased.
Money never flows back to players. You are buying a moment on the map, and bragging rights.
Terms
Under Whose Flag is an entertainment website operated by Known by One, LLC (Delaware, USA). By paying you agree to these terms. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to pay.
What you buy. One thing: the flag you chose is displayed on the nation you chose, on this website, until another visitor pays the then-current price to replace it. That may happen seconds later. Nothing else is promised: no minimum display time, no real-world claim, no rights over any territory, and no relationship with any government. Display begins the moment your payment clears.
No refunds. Being replaced is the game, not a defect. Because display starts immediately, you agree that we begin performing at once and that you lose any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period. The single exception: if two payments for the same nation collide and yours arrives second at a price that no longer applies, we refund yours automatically and in full.
Prices. Prices double after each placement and are always between $1 and $65,536, in US dollars. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
Flags and borders. Only the national flags of recognised states can be placed. Borders and names are drawn from the public-domain Natural Earth dataset and imply no political position.
Your handle. If you give an X handle it is shown publicly on the flag, in the nation's history and in the automatic post from @underwhoseflag announcing your flip. Only give a handle you own. We may hide any handle that impersonates someone, is abusive, or breaks X's rules, without refund; the flag itself stays. To have a handle removed, email contact@underwhoseflag.com.
The site. It is provided as is. It may be paused, changed or closed at any time, and the map may not be preserved after closure. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
